Foodgrains processing & milling activities in Madurai district is a natural phenomenon linked by commonalities & complementarities and has been in existence for more than sixty years and its origin can be traced to the pre-independent days as both the food grains & oilseeds (cereals, pulses & staples) processors & millers and their retail-end merchants and raw material suppliers jointly formed an Association in the name & style of Madurai Foodgrains Wholesale Merchants Association in the year 1945.
